Knews Desk– The functioning of the Indian corporate world is changing rapidly amid global economic uncertainties, geo-political tensions and rising costs. Now companies are focusing on the strategy of “less spending, more work”. Companies are preparing to deal with challenges like recession by cutting non-essential expenses, controlling travel and better use of technology.

Work from home, virtual meetings and digital collaboration

Indian companies are now giving priority to financial discipline and proper use of resources. Under this, hybrid work model, work from home (WFH), virtual meetings and digital collaboration are being promoted rapidly. Companies believe that this will not only reduce costs but will also increase efficiency.

IndusInd Bank has started expanding the roster-based work from home policy in many departments. According to bank officials, along with saving resources, the productivity of the employees is also improving. At the same time, Lupine has made the rules for domestic and international travel more strict. The company is now allowing travel only for essential business purposes. Similarly, PwC India has asked employees to travel only when there is a clear business purpose. Hindustan Unilever is also promoting the use of virtual medium for meetings.

Home interior design company HomeLane has also made changes in its business model. The company is now promoting train travel instead of short distance flights so that both fuel consumption and travel costs can be reduced. Also, many decision-making processes are being handed over to local teams, reducing the need for frequent travel by senior officials.

IT and tech sector increased the number of electric vehicles

Companies in the IT and tech sector are also rapidly moving towards energy saving and sustainable technologies. Capgemini is increasing the number of electric vehicles in its vehicle fleet and using IoT based energy management systems. At the same time, companies like Infosys and RPG Group are also emphasizing on renewable energy and virtual collaboration.

The corporate world says that these steps are not just to deal with the current economic challenges, but are part of a strategy to ensure long-term sustainable growth. Companies are also keeping in mind the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which emphasis was laid on responsible consumption and balanced use of resources.

Experts believe that in the coming times, this “smart spending model” of Indian companies can become a permanent part of the corporate culture, where the focus will be on achieving more productivity in less budget.
