Zameer Siddiqui/Kanapuram, Read. Due to the oil crisis after the US-Iran war, airlines have increased the fares for foreign travel manifold due to which thousands of people living in Gulf countries are not able to come to their homes on leave and those who had come to Kanpur three-four months ago are not able to go back.

Let us tell you that thousands of people come here in summer due to children’s vacation so that they can spend two months of peaceful moments with their families, but this time people are sweating as soon as they hear the fare and are saying that if they come for two months after spending one lakh rupees, then what will they feed the children, it is better than this that we are fine here.

Shahnawaz Khan, who lives in Juhi Lal Colony, tells that his brother lives in Dubai, works there for the last 12 years, comes every two years during summer vacation because his wife and children are all here but this time he is not able to muster the courage to come to Kanpur because the rent has increased so much that the whole year’s earnings will be spent only on rent.

Similarly, Meenu Ansari, who lives near Mahelia ground in Babupurwa, has been working in Sharjah for the last 10 years, one of his brothers-in-law is in Kuwait. Both of them have been abroad for two years, but this time on May 10, when they asked the travel agency to prepare tickets, their condition worsened when the agency told them the fare.

In fact, apart from the Gulf countries, the fares for the countries for which there are flights from India have increased a lot. When people used to go to Saudi for Umrah, they used to reach there for Rs 25,000, but now the same fare has increased manifold.

People on leave are not able to go abroad

People from Gulf countries who had come three-four months ago from Riyadh, Sharjah, Kuwait, Dubai etc. to spend holidays with their family in Kanpur, are now facing the difficulty of going again because they had made up their mind that they would be able to reach there in Rs 25-30 thousand, but now the same fare has reached Rs 70,000, all the money they had by staying at home has been spent, now how to arrange for so much fare, the visa of many people has expired. It’s done.

Just look at the fares abroad

Delhi/Lucknow date rent first rent now
Jeddah 22 may 26000 53,579
Dubai 21 may 12000 30,696
Kuwait 2 June 22000 70,810
doha 21 may 25000 60,000
London 19 may 75000 1,25000

Business affected due to manifold increase in rent

Fares for foreign air travel have increased manifold due to which the number of passengers has decreased, many people had come for holidays from abroad, now due to increase in fares, a big problem has arisen in front of such people. In summer, thousands of people from abroad used to come to Kanpur, but this time only 20 percent people are coming from abroad. Shariq Alvi, Director, Awadh Tours and Travels, Kanpur
