There is a possibility of heavy rain in some states, while in many areas there has been a warning of severe heat wave. The next few days are going to be very challenging especially in Delhi-NCR, where the temperature can reach 44 degrees Celsius.
How much will the heat increase in Delhi?
Heat has become a cause of trouble for people in Delhi for the last several days. Due to dry weather and strong sunlight, the temperature is continuously increasing. On Saturday, there was bright sunshine throughout the day in the capital, due to which the maximum temperature reached 40.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 24.8 degrees Celsius. Big fluctuations were also seen in the humidity level. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum humidity was recorded at 73 percent and the minimum humidity was 28 percent, due to which the effect of both humidity and heat was felt.
How will be the weather of Delhi today?
According to the Meteorological Department, a major change can be seen in the weather of Delhi between May 17 and 22. Some relief from the scorching heat is expected on Sunday, May 17. During this period, the sky may remain partly cloudy and there is a possibility of light rain with thunder in the afternoon or evening. Along with this, strong winds can blow at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour. In some areas the wind speed is expected to reach 40 kilometers per hour, due to which the weather may be pleasant for a while.
When will the heat increase?
However, the Meteorological Department has warned that after Sunday’s slight relief, the heat in Delhi may become more severe. The sky is expected to remain completely clear between May 18 and 22, due to which the temperature will rise rapidly due to strong sunlight. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the temperature in the capital can reach 44 degrees Celsius at the beginning of the week. During this period, the maximum temperature is likely to be between 40 to 44 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be between 24 to 29 degrees Celsius.
Strong winds are likely to continue in Delhi in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Department, winds will continue to blow at a speed of 15 to 30 kilometers per hour, while on some occasions their speed can reach 40 kilometers per hour. However, despite strong winds, there is not much hope of getting much relief from the heat.
