New Delhi: Indian men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty suffered a crushing defeat against the Indonesian pair of Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin in the men’s doubles final at the Thailand Open 2026 on Sunday, May 17. Satwik-Chirag’s wait for their first title of the season continued after their straight-games defeat in the summit clash.
Satwik and Chirag were thoroughly outplayed by the Indonesian duo in the final, losing 12-21, 23-25. The Indian men’s doubles pair, ranked 4th in the BWF rankings, headed into the final as the favourites with an overwhelming 4-0 head-to-head record against their opponents. However, on Sunday, Carnando and Marthin beat Satwik and Chirag for the first time in the final.
