Despite being banned in the UAE and facing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in India, the Aakhiri Sawaal continues to generate strong buzz across the country. The Sanjay Dutt-starrer has been drawing growing curiosity from audiences, even as controversies surrounding it refuse to die down.
Recently, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta watched the film and praised it. Now, the film is set for a special screening at Rashtrapati Bhavan, further amplifying its prominence.
While debates and legal challenges continue, the film is attracting attention from both the general public and influential political and administrative figures. This has sparked a larger question—what is it about Aakhiri Sawaal that is compelling viewers to react so strongly?
Despite the UAE ban and the PIL seeking to halt its release, the film’s strong reception in India suggests it goes beyond mere entertainment, touching on issues that resonate deeply with society and the common man.
The film is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang and presented by Nikhil Nanda. It is produced by Nikhil Nanda and Sanjay Dutt, with co-producers Puneet Nanda, Dr. Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey, and Ujjwal Anand. The story, screenplay, and dialogues have been written by Utkarsh Naithani.
Aakhiri Sawaal was released in theatres on May 15, 2026.
