Superstar Rajinikanth on Sunday dismissed speculation that he harbours any “jealousy” towards Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay, clarifying that his recent meeting with M. K. Stalin was purely a friendly interaction with no political agenda.

Speaking to reporters at his Poes Garden residence, Rajinikanth said the meeting with the DMK president was not intended to influence Vijay’s political journey or to explore any party merger.

Rejecting claims of rivalry, the “Jailer” star pointed out the 25-year age gap between him and Vijay, praising the latter’s accomplishments. He said Vijay’s rise at the age of 52 surpasses even that of legendary actors-turned-politicians M. G. Ramachandran and N. T. Rama Rao.

“I’ve known Vijay since he was young. Why would I be jealous if he has become Chief Minister? Achieving this at such a young age is remarkable. I have no envy at all,” Rajinikanth said.

He also congratulated Vijay after his party secured 108 seats to form the government with support from allies, defeating major Dravidian parties.

Rajinikanth reiterated that he stayed away from politics due to health concerns and advised his fans to support any political party of their choice. He further urged the public to give Vijay at least two years to settle into his role as Chief Minister.
