The PGA Championship leaderboard is tightly packed at the summit, with five players locked together in second place - a sight that has left Scottie Scheffler lost for words.
Both Scheffler and Rory McIlroy voiced frustration over the pin positions during the opening two rounds, while several groups were placed on the clock as a sluggish pace of play was compounded by bitter cold and fierce winds.
Scheffler carded a 71 on Saturday and currently finds himself tied for 23rd at Aronimink Golf Club, with the World No. 1 visibly stunned by what he saw on the leaderboard.
"First, I've never seen anything like this," said Scheffler. "When we were out there, I think it's just the nature of a lot of different things, but yeah, I've never seen a leaderboard like this, this bunched up."
Ludvig Aberg is also firmly in contention, sitting amongst those tied for second, and echoed Scheffler's sentiments that the standings are extraordinary, with the title very much up for grabs.
"I mean, my PGA Tour career isn't necessarily very long at this point," said Aberg. "But I've never seen anything like it. It's very tight. I think there's a lot of good players within striking distance going into tomorrow, and it's a cool thing, I think, for the viewers. I think it's cool to see that many guys have a chance to win a tournament.
"But it doesn't necessarily change the way you play this golf course. I think the way it's set up with a lot of difficult golf holes, a lot of strong par-3s and difficult shots into some of these par-4s, there's not a whole lot you can do differently. So I think that's why we're seeing a tight leaderboard, but it also makes it exciting for tomorrow."
Alex Smalley holds the outright lead at the PGA Championship ahead of the congested chasing pack beneath him.
"I think the golf course is just challenging," said Scheffler. "There's extremely high winds. There's a lot of pitch on the greens, so there's not a ton of opportunities for birdie.
"I felt like I did a good job today kind of hanging in there. Yeah, hit some good shots, hit a lot of good putts that are kind of right around the edge. It's kind of like a little bit of a dice roll at times when you have so much slope and so much wind."
