The feud between Virat Kohli and Harpreet Brar was one of the most talked about instances from Sunday's clash between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Dharamshala during IPL 2026.
During the RCB innings in the match No. 61 of IPL 2026, Harpreet Brar seemingly feigned a run out towards the batting ace Virat Kohli. It wasn't before the incident was caught on camera that the footage went viral on all the social media platforms.
Punjab Kings went into the match at the back of five consecutive losses. Winning the toss and choosing to field first, they were up against an RCB side playing without their injured captain Rajat Patidar and wicketkeeper batter Jitesh Sharma captained the Bangalore team.
RCB's inning took a major jolt after they lost their first wicket just after Jacob Bethell played a good shot after facing 7 balls and scored 11 runs. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal did stabilize the RCB inning by stitching a partnership of 76 runs together.
Virat Kohli's Reaction Goes Viral
The tetchy encounter was during the ninth over of the match. Kohli played a shot towards the point and showed interest to go for a quick single. However, Devdutt Padikkal sent him back, realizing the threat. Brar, picking up the ball quickly, made an almost threatening gesture of throwing the ball at the wickets after seeing Kohli a bit outside the crease.
The RCB batter stopped himself from going back and held his ground. Kohli gave an intensely serious stare toward the Punjab spinner, seemingly egging him on for a run-out attempt. However, Brar didn't throw at the wickets but instead playfully passed the ball to a teammate, after which Kohli went back to face the next ball.
The whole instance took a total of only a few seconds to occur, but the clip was massively shared all over the internet with the fans applauding the feisty argument between the two batters. Many went on to say that it's another moment to add to the ever-growing rivalry of Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
