New Delhi: IT powerhouse Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) showcased its excellence beyond the corporate world by clinching a thrilling win against Amazon in the final of the TV9 Network Corporate Badminton Championship Season 2. The nail-biting match highlighted not only sporting talent but also teamwork, determination, and resilience among corporate professionals.
The thrilling final was played at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats as both teams faced off on Court No. 6. Amazon dominated the opening stages and won the first two games by delivering dominating performances with scores of 21-11, 21-12. The team further strengthened its position by winning the third game 21-17.
TCS stages a stunning comebackDespite trailing by three games and facing massive pressure, the TCS team showed remarkable grit, resilience and determination. Their players refused to give up and executed brilliant strategies, mounting an extraordinary comeback.
TCS won four consecutive games with the scores of 21-17, 21-18, 21-15, and 21-16, leaving the Amazon camp stunned and turning the match into a memorable clash.
The seven-game battle highlighted TCS’s fighting spirit, teamwork, and perseverance as the team rose from the brink of defeat to claim the championship trophy.
Amazon finishes runner-up, Infosys secures third placeAmazon, which displayed exceptional skill throughout the tournament, finished as runners-up after marginally missing out on the trophy. Meanwhile, Infosys secured third place (second runner-up) and received praise for its impressive performance.
In the individual categories, Glance’s Prajwal Nilavaga won the men’s singles title, while Chinmayi from N Ranga Rao and Sons emerged victorious in the women’s singles category. Rahul and Bhargavi of Ryan claimed the mixed doubles title.
The three-day championship, organised by TV9 Network, successfully promoted sportsmanship and team spirit among corporate employees. The unity, enthusiasm, and competitive spirit displayed by all participating teams made the tournament a memorable event.
