Ingredients required to make Thecha Pulao
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 2 tbsp green chilli powder
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 tomato chopped
- 1 small potato chopped
- 1/2 cup cheese pieces
- 2 tbsp peanuts
- 1 tablespoon oil or ghee
- 1 tsp mustard
- some curry leaves
- Coriander to garnish
- salt as per taste
This is how to make Maharashtrian style pulao
Step 1: Prepare Tadka
First of all, heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves and peanuts in it. Fry the peanuts until lightly crisp.
Step 2: Cook the vegetables
Now add finely chopped onion, tomato and potato. Cook well until all the vegetables become soft and light golden.
Step 3: Mix Paneer and Thecha
After this add paneer pieces and fry lightly for about a minute. Then add green chilli powder and mix everything well.
Step 4: Add rice
Now add the cooked rice and mix slowly, so that the masala coats each grain well.
Step 5: Add flavor
Add salt as per taste and let it cook on low flame for 2 minutes, so that all the flavors mix well.
Step 6: Serve
Switch off the gas and garnish with green coriander. Your spicy Maharashtrian thecha pulao is ready. Serve it hot with curd, raita or papad.
