Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel put in this kinda brilliant fielding scene , to send Riyan Parag back during the IPL 2026 clash against Rajasthan Royals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, you know how it goes.
It happened in the 15th over, Mitchell Starc bowled a slower full delivery , it was outside off stump. Parag went for the big clear over towards cow corner after moving his front leg away. But somehow he couldn’t get enough on it properly, and the ball went up high, like really high.

Axar was fielding at long-on, and he just sprinted in a flash. Then he managed that low diving catch , inches above the ground. It ended a risky 72-run partnership and gave DC that solid breakthrough they needed, right when it mattered.
Parag looked all in control , before the dismissal. He cracked 51 runs off just 26 balls , with three fours and five sixes. That aggressive batting had kept Delhi bowlers under pressure, still Axar’s sharp effort helped Delhi pull it back in the game, basically.
Mitchell Starc was fired up too, he celebrated the wicket with real energy. The Australian pacer finally got the breakthrough, after RR batters went after the bowling early on in the innings.

Rajasthan Royals Batters Kind Of Took Over In Delhi
Before Parag’s wicket, Rajasthan Royals had a strong batting show. Young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi kept rolling and started with attacking shots from the first moment.
He made 46 off only 21 balls, with five fours and three sixes, before getting out to Madhav Tiwari. Dhruv Jurel meanwhile stayed steady and finished unbeaten on 45 from 30 deliveries.
Yashasvi Jaiswal chipped in a quick 12 runs off nine balls. And Parag’s heavy hitting pushed the scoring rate past 11 an over. Delhi Capitals bowlers had a rough night. Mukesh Kumar gave away 40 runs in two overs, while Tripurana Vijay also leaked runs at points. Lungi Ngidi, though, bowled tidy and grabbed one wicket.
RR crossed 160 runs in only 14.2 overs and looked set for a huge total, before the Parag dismissal slightly slowed everything down, just a bit.
Rajasthan Royals ended at 161/3 in 14.2 overs, after strong knocks from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (46), Dhruv Jurel (45*), and Riyan Parag (51). Yashasvi Jaiswal made 12 at the top. For Delhi, Mitchell Starc, Lungi Ngidi and Madhav Tiwari took one wicket each. And honestly Axar Patel’s diving catch at long-on became one of the best moments of the innings, because it removed that dangerous Parag off Starc’s bowling.
