New Delhi: A very sad news has come from the South Film Industry. Famous film producer and director K Rajan has committed suicide. On Sunday, he took his own life by jumping into the river from Adyar Bridge in Chennai. As soon as information about this incident was received, there was a wave of mourning in the Tamil film industry. Police has started the investigation of the matter.

Beginning of film career

K Rajan was not only a filmmaker but also made significant contributions to Tamil cinema as a writer, director and actor. He started his career in 1983 by producing the film ‘Brahmacharigal’. He then produced several successful films like ‘Doubles’, ‘Aval Paavam’ and ‘Ninaikoatha Naali’ which made him a prominent name in the film industry.

Journey of direction and acting

After success in producing, he debuted as a director in 1991 with the film ‘Namma Oru Mariamma’. Sarathkumar and Nijalaghal Ravi played lead roles in this film. Apart from this, he also directed films like ‘Unarakigal’. As an actor, he also performed brilliantly in Ajith Kumar’s hit film ‘Thunivu’ and Selvaraghavan’s ‘Bakasuran’.

Rajan had also expressed displeasure over the behavior of big artists like Lady Superstar Nayanthara and comedian Yogi Babu. He believed that these artistes charge huge fees for films, but maintain distance during promotions, audio launches or press meets.
