Netherlands: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Netherlands on Sunday as part of his Europe tour, where he visited the world famous Afslootdike Dam with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten. During this, there was an in-depth discussion between the two countries on water management, flood control, climate change and modern infrastructure. Praising the technology and experience of Netherlands, PM Modi said that this country is an example for the whole world in terms of better use of water and protection from floods.

India-Netherlands cooperation will increase on water security and technology

During the visit, India and the Netherlands committed to work together on water management and climate resilient infrastructure in the future. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Afslootdike Dam is not just a dam but a symbol of modern engineering and foresight, which plays an important role in sea water control, flood protection and freshwater conservation.

Gujarat’s ambitious Kalpsar project was also discussed in the meeting. Through this project, there is a plan to develop huge reservoir and dam in the Gulf of Khambhat, which will strengthen the irrigation, drinking water and energy sectors. PM Modi said that India is working rapidly towards strengthening the irrigation system, flood protection and expansion of inland water network by adopting modern water technologies. According to officials, this journey is considered very important for India’s long-term water security and infrastructure development.
