APCR conference in Bhopal, city Qazi calls for unity against injustice

With the aim of awakening the spirit of justice and civil rights, a state level conference was concluded by the provincial unit of the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. In fact, the main attraction of this successful event was the address of Qazi-e-Shahar Bhopal Mufti Mushtaq Nadvi, who called for a united fight against injustice.

In fact, while addressing the function, Mufti Mushtaq Nadvi stressed that everyone needs to fight unitedly to get justice. He also stressed that along with this fight for justice, it is also very important to make the countrymen aware of the real nature of the religion of Islam. In this context, Deputy Qazi-e-Shahar Mufti Al Qader also highlighted the importance of collective struggle for justice in his address.

Representatives of deprived communities from different parts participated

Lawyers, educationists, social workers, students and representatives of deprived communities from different parts of the state participated in this important conference. The main objective of the conference was to deeply discuss serious issues like civil rights, constitutional values, legal awareness and increasing hatred, discrimination and dictatorial tendencies in the society.

Senior Supreme Court advocate and social activist Prashant Bhushan also participated in the program. He said that to strengthen democracy, it is not enough to just fight legal battles in the courts, but active participation of the general public is also very important. Educationist and author Professor Apoorvanand Jha expressed his deep concern over the increasing hatred and communal polarization in the society. He said that the fight for justice should not be limited to the courts only but it will have to be fought strongly within the society as well.

Indian Muslims for Civil Rights (IMCR) Chairman and former MP Mohammad Adeeb called on all opposition and democratic forces to unite to protect democratic and secular values. Expressing concern over the situation of minorities and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) communities in Madhya Pradesh, former DGP Wazir Ahmed Ansari raised serious questions on issues like lack of High Court bench, problems to meat transportation and misuse of anti-conversion laws. APCR General Secretary Malik Motsim Khan raised strong questions on the role of governments that have failed to protect land, employment and constitutional rights of the common people.

Nadeem Khan presented the national report of the organization

At the conference, APCR National Secretary Nadeem Khan presented the national report of the organization. He said that no victim of injustice is alone and collective legal struggle for justice is inevitable. Advocate Ashraf Ali made a detailed mention of the recent work done by APCR in Madhya Pradesh. Senior advocate Rekha Srivastava appreciated the work of the organization and expressed her full support. Qazi Ashfaq Ali of Khandwa made special mention of the ‘Titgaon case’, where the legal intervention of APCR had brought major relief in the eviction process.

The program started with cultural presentations by local young lawyers and poets. Javed Akhtar gave the welcome address, while the stage was ably moderated by advocate Fawaz Shaheen. Zaid Pathan, Dr. Fazal, Anwar Pathan and his entire team including Advocate Zubair Ilahi had a special contribution in making this successful event.
