Petrol Diesel Rate Today: On Friday, the prices of petrol and diesel in India were increased by ₹ 3 per liter. Government oil companies have increased the prices of petrol and diesel for the first time after 2022. However, today on Monday oil prices remained unchanged as compared to yesterday. Petrol prices in the capital Delhi have increased by ₹3 to ₹97.77 per liter. Diesel is now being sold at ₹90.67 per liter which was earlier ₹87.67 per liter.

It is worth noting that due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States, the Strait of Hormuz has been closed for almost two months. It is also important that 20 percent of the world’s crude oil needs are met through this route. Given the current circumstances, the supply of crude oil has come to a complete halt resulting in prices rising well above $100 per barrel. Before the conflict began, crude oil prices were around $70 per barrel. Due to this huge surge in crude oil prices, oil marketing companies were incurring huge losses. As a result everyone started expecting a rise in prices.
