There was a fire in one compartment yesterday at 5.15 am.
New Delhi, (Language) West-Central Railway on Sunday constituted an inquiry committee to investigate the fire incident in Thiruvananthapuram Central-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express.
According to an official, the fire broke out in the B-1 compartment of the train between Vikramgarh Alot and Lunirichha station of Kota division at 5.15 am, one and a half hour after departure from Ratlam Junction in Madhya Pradesh. The ‘luggage brake’ and generator car located at the rear of the coach were damaged by the fire. “The General Manager of West Central Railway has constituted an inquiry committee,” the Railway Board said in a press release. Senior officials of West-Central Railway, Integral Coach Factory, Chennai and Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) have been included in this.
“Principal Chief Safety Officer, West-Central Railway has been appointed as the convenor of the committee,” the release said. It said the inquiry committee includes Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer of West-Central Railway and Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer of Integral Coach Factory, among other officers.
