Girl was on way to deliver food to father: Police

According to the police, the 7-year-old girl was on way to deliver food to her father, when suddenly 6 to 7 ferocious stray dogs attacked her. They said that the dogs have bitten the child on her head and neck and she has suffered grievous injuries.

Her cries alerted locals and family members who immediately rushed. She was admitted to Moradabad District Hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment. The doctors at the hospital are trying their level best to save the child, said her family.

In another incident also from UP, a woman in Sambhal died after stray dogs attacked her. She was visiting her maternal home, when the incident happened. The woman was admitted to hospital, post the attack by the dogs, but did not survive.

The doctors at the government hospital in Sambal had administered the anti-rabies vaccine to the woman. But her condition continued to deteriorate and she needed an anti-rabies serum. But the serum was not available at the hospital. She was taken to Delhi by her family members for treatment, but died during treatment at a hospital in the national capital.

The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Zaibul Nisha. The woman was reportedly administered the anti-rabies shot in Sambal itself, but it did not have much of an effect. Within a few weeks, she started showing symptoms of rabies, like fearing water. She was then admitted to a hospital in Delhi, but she passed away on Sunday morning.

Doctors said that in case of deep wounds due to dog bites, the patient needs to be administered anti-rabies serum as well. Just administering the anti-rabies vaccine is not enough, they added.
