Police said the incident occurred on Sunday night when Deepika allegedly jumped from the terrace of her house. Family members claimed she had been under severe mental stress because of continuous harassment linked to dowry demands.

Police said the matter is being examined from all possible angles and further legal action will depend on the findings of the investigation.
Another Similar Case Under Probe
The incident comes days after another alleged dowry harassment- death involving a Noida woman, Twisha Sharma, whose body was found at her marital home in Bhopal earlier this month.
In that case, authorities formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe allegations against her husband and mother-in-law. An autopsy report stated that Twisha died due to hanging, while investigators are also examining other findings mentioned during the medical examination.
The two incidents have once again brought attention to concerns surrounding dowry harassment and domestic abuse cases involving young married women.
