Tragic Road Accidents Claim Lives in Uttar Pradesh

Lakhimpur Kheri, May 18: A devastating accident occurred on Monday morning when a speeding truck collided head-on with a van in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri district, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals, as reported by officials.


The incident took place near Sisaia on NH-730, within the jurisdiction of the Isanagar police station. The force of the collision was so intense that the van was utterly wrecked, according to authorities.


While nine people lost their lives at the scene, one individual sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.


Officials noted that there were approximately ten passengers aboard the van at the time of the crash.


The accident caused widespread panic in the vicinity, prompting locals to alert the police. Emergency responders quickly arrived to initiate rescue operations.


Witnesses indicated that the van was en route from Lakhimpur to Sisaia, while the truck was traveling from Bahraich when the two vehicles collided.


The authorities have taken custody of the deceased for post-mortem examinations.


In a separate incident, four individuals died and two others were injured following a collision between a car and a combine harvester in Bahraich late Sunday night.


The injured parties are reported to have sustained critical injuries and are currently hospitalized.


Officials stated that the speeding car, which was traveling from Nepal to Bahraich, crashed into a wheat-harvesting combine near Digha More in Brahmnipura.


Police have conducted an inspection of the accident site, and a thorough investigation has been ordered.


SP (Rural) D.P. Tiwari commented on the incident, stating, "The bodies have been recovered and sent for post-mortem. The families of the deceased have been notified, and legal proceedings are in progress."


Investigations into both tragic accidents are ongoing, with further updates expected soon.
