Chennai, May 18: The new Tamil Nadu government is prioritizing the reopening of schools following the summer break. Chief Minister Vijay convened important discussions with School Education Minister Rajmohan and senior officials at the Secretariat in Chennai.

With the reopening of schools on the horizon and the Class 10 examination results expected soon, the Chief Minister assessed the readiness of the School Education Department and reviewed operational strategies.

During the meeting, officials explored various initiatives and programs aimed at enhancing the education sector in the upcoming months. This dialogue marks the beginning of a series of administrative meetings initiated by Vijay after taking office.

Vijay, who leads the TVK party, received a strong mandate in the recent Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, which facilitated his transition into the Chief Minister role. Alongside him, nine ministers were sworn in and assigned their respective portfolios.

In a significant internal review following the allocation of portfolios, CM Vijay engaged with all nine ministers to clarify the administration's goals and expectations. He emphasized the importance of effective governance and the timely execution of policies during these discussions.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the government's overarching administrative strategy and the necessity of providing services efficiently as the new administration embarks on its work across various sectors.

Post the meeting with Vijay, the ministers proceeded to hold individual discussions with senior officials in their departments to assess ongoing projects and determine immediate priorities.

Particular emphasis was placed on the School Education Department, given the upcoming academic calendar and the need to facilitate a smooth transition for students returning to school after the summer vacation.

Minister Rajmohan later engaged in comprehensive discussions with departmental officials regarding current programs and future plans. Senior officials, including the School Education Secretary and the Director of School Education, were involved in this review meeting.

These early consultations are perceived as a strategic move by the new government to swiftly establish its administrative framework and set a clear governance direction for the initial phase of the Vijay administration.
