Since the release of Anjaan in 2014, Suriya had been struggling to make a mark at the box office with one dud after another.

All his recent movies be it Kanguva, Retro, Etharkkum Thunindhavan, Kaappaan and NGK failed to make a mark at the box office and unfortunately two of his most-loved movies - Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim went straight to OTT.

But that changes now with his latest release Karuppu directed by RJ Balaji.

Also starring Trisha Krishnan, Karuppu has turned out to be a major box office success for Suriya and became his second biggest grosser in just three days of release.

Karuppu Hits Rs 120 Crore Plus In Just 3 Days

The movie opened to Rs 15.50 crore on day one, Rs 24.15 crore on day two and Rs 28.35 crore on day three taking its domestic net total to Rs 68 crore (Rs 78.75 crore gross).
