Sophie Raworth has been a recognisable presence on the BBC for decades.
The television presenter was among the inaugural line-up when BBC Breakfast launched in 2000, which she fronted alongside Jeremy Bowen and subsequently Dermot Murnaghan.
Three years later the Surrey-born broadcaster transferred to the Six O'Clock News alongside the late George Alagiah, who became among her dearest friends.
Since then she's fronted the BBC's News at One and News at Ten alongside numerous special programmes for the broadcaster, including the Queen's Golden Jubilee and funeral coverage, and programmes such as Crimewatch Roadshow.
The dedicated marathon runner is also a recognisable presence on the BBC's coverage of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and returns for 2026 when she will be spotted welcoming some particularly distinguished guests to the showground, reports the Mirror.
But what of Sophie's life away from the cameras? Here we examine her husband, children and famous sister.
Sophie, 58, has been married to real estate broker Richard Winter since 2003.
The broker proposed to Sophie in Amalfi, Italy while on holiday for her 35th birthday. According to reports, Richard was a longstanding friend of the journalist but their relationship did not always run smoothly.
The pair separated briefly prior to their engagement, with The Sun reporting that Sophie had said it was the only occasion she was dumped, "normally being the heartbreaker" herself.
The couple have since welcomed three children together - two daughters, Ella and Georgia, and a son, Oliver. While Sophie tends to keep her family life largely out of the public eye, she occasionally offers glimpses on her official Instagram account, including a recent snapshot of herself alongside her daughter at the London Marathon.
She captioned the post: "London Marathon I love you. 3:36:35 Fastest marathon in 5 years. Wonderful day. I ran with my 21 year old daughter who was 6 when I first ran @londonmarathon. What a privilege to be able to run together and run for my wonderful dad who would have been so proud of her."
She received an outpouring of support from her well-known friends, with Susanna Reid commenting: "You are BOTH AMAZING." and Louise Minchin adding: "What a lovely thing to do, congratulations."
The achievement came just a year after Sophie was forced to withdraw from the race to be at her father's side before he passed away.
Sophie is not the sole high-achiever in her family - her sister Kate is a distinguished economist, renowned for devising the 'doughnut economics' model.
The model's diagram, aptly rendered in the shape of a doughnut, illustrates how the empty centre represents the basic necessities people lack, while the outer layers depict planetary boundaries whose breach could trigger ecological collapse.
Paying tribute to her sibling in 2022, Sophie wrote: "My brilliant sister Kate Raworth. Author of Doughnut Economics. She has just been awarded an honorary doctorate by the Belgian university @kuleuven for her work rethinking economics. Which is how I discovered she is Professor Kate Raworth! She's so modest....she'd forgotten to tell me that."
