At the age of just 33, the life of a successful, educated and ambitious woman ended suddenly. On May 12, 2026, former beauty queen and MBA graduate Twisha Sharma was found hanging in her in-laws’ house in Katara Hills, Bhopal. Only five months had passed since their marriage. This incident has shocked the entire family. Serious allegations and counter-allegations are going on between Twisha’s family and in-laws regarding Twisha’s death. The family is demanding justice, while the in-laws are calling it suicide.
Twisha Sharma was originally a resident of Noida. He had worked hard in his career. statement of in-laws
On the other hand, Twisha’s mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, claimed in the bail petition that Twisha was a drug addict. There were frequent changes in his mood. According to the petition, before marriage Twisha used to work in films and modeling. Even after marriage, she continued working from home, but after some time a change was visible in her behaviour. According to Giribala Singh, Twisha visited her parents’ house five times between December 2025 and May 2026. During this period, his hands would tremble, irritability had increased and his mood would change suddenly. He claimed that Twisha’s father had also confessed to drug addiction. On April 17, when Twisha came to know that she was pregnant, her condition worsened. After returning from the hospital, she packed her things and said that she could no longer play the role of a housewife. She wanted to return to Noida. She reached Delhi on 18 April, but was delayed in going home. On May 12, around 10 pm, Twisha hanged herself with an iron rod on the terrace.
what’s in chat
However, in the chat shared by the family, Samarth raised questions on Twisha’s pregnancy and whose child it was. Whereas Twisha had told her mother in WhatsApp chat that Samarth ‘wants to apologize by rubbing his nose with Papa’. In response to which mother replies, ‘Papa apologizes every time.’
Meeting and marriage started from dating app
Twisha met her husband Samarth Singh in 2024 through a dating app. Samarth Singh is a lawyer. Both of them got married in Delhi in December 2025. After marriage, Twisha left her Noida lifestyle and went to Bhopal. But her life was not happy after marriage. Twisha had written many emotional messages to her mother. On April 30, he wrote, ‘Why did you send me here? No one is talking here. Why did you send me to Bhopal? He is not talking to me. A few days later, he sent an even more painful message, ‘My life has become hell, mom.’ A few days before his death, on May 7, he told a close friend that sitting at home was making him very worried. She wanted to do something in her life. He advised his friend, ‘Don’t get married because you are itching to get married. Proceed thoughtfully.
Family’s allegations and demand for justice
Twisha’s father Navnidhi Sharma and other family members are not considering the death as suicide. He said that the post mortem report and evidence are not matching each other. Therefore he has applied for a second post-mortem. The family says that this is a high-profile family and they have little hope of getting justice. Twisha’s relatives have accused her husband Samarth Singh and her in-laws of mental and physical harassment for a long time. He claimed that there were injury marks on Twisha’s body and the evidence could be destroyed. The family also staged a protest outside the residence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and demanded justice.
Investigation continues, SIT is investigating
Madhya Pradesh Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in this case. The allegations from both sides are being thoroughly investigated. Twisha was pregnant at the time of her death, which makes this whole matter even more sensitive. This matter is still before the court and investigating agencies.
