South Korean actor  began his mandatory military service on May 18, and he shared the news with fans on May 17 through Instagram. In a post showing his freshly shaved buzz cut, he reassured followers, “I will return in good health.” Lee is now officially enlisted, and he will first undergo basic training before serving as an active duty soldier. Earlier this month, the actor had revealed his enlistment date, giving fans advance notice. Although he has begun his military service, fans will still be able to see him in several projects he completed before enlisting.

In addition to the photos, he shared glimpses of celebratory cakes and meals, giving followers a peek at the small pre-enlistment festivities with friends and loved ones.

 

Reacting to the post, one fan said, "You have no idea how much I've cried missing you. Come back soon, my love. Stay well and healthy. Be strong and brave." Several fans extended good wishes and asked him to come back safe and healthy.
