Welcome to the 'Le Stitch Up' - Labour's latest political shenanigans to find the next Prime Minister. Hot favourites to replace Starmer are; Open Border Burnham and Self Satisfied Streeting, both with the shared goal of taking the UK back into the EU. So it's nil points from me. The recently called by-election in Makerfield is entitled cronyism at its worst, treating the public like pawns. It is merely a means to shoehorn Andy "Windbag of the North" Burnham back into Parliament.

Let's not forget, Burnham was previously an MP who twice failed to become his party's leader, after which he left Parliament telling everyone that the Mayor of Manchester was the job he really wanted and it would be his last job in politics.

But sniffing an opportunity and believing himself to be better than all 403 Labour MPs currently in Parliament, he's decided to give up on the 500,000 people across Greater Manchester who voted for him to be their Mayor and go on his way to displace the Prime Minister. The 70,000 constituents in Makerfield will be voting fodder too - a stepping stone for Burnham to get to Number 10. It's all just a game to these career politicians.

And the MP who has given up on his constituents to allow this to happen is not an old MP, exhausted and hoping to retire to let a young thrusting buck take over from him. It is one of the new 2024 intake of MPs, 32 year old Josh Simons. He was set to be one of Labour's highfliers until he resigned as Digital Minister in February after less than two months in post because of the Labour Together dirty tricks scandal, the think tank credited with putting Starmer in Number 10.

I am sure we can look forward to Lord Simons of Makerfield should Burnham win the by-election and become Prime Minister. It's all a game to these people.

The problem isn't Starmer. It's Labour. And no amount of swapping the leader at the top will solve their woes. Their issue is they have no ideas how to grow the economy, no resolve to strengthen UK defence, no wish for the UK to stand on its feet and be a great sovereign nation. These buffoons hoping to lead our country are cowards putting the UK in retreat.

Burnham - who has never had a proper job and worked in politics his entire adult life - is a EU fanatic who has stated that he wants to rejoin, open our borders further and give 500 million people the right to move here freely.

Yet he is happy to stand in the by-election in a seat which voted overwhelmingly to leave. Outmanoeuvred by Streeting at the weekend Burnham is currently trying to backtrack on his pro EU stance. I do hope the people of Makerfield see through him and don't allow themselves to be used as part of 'Le Stitch Up' in this by-election.
