State Bank of India has released the notification for recruitment of apprentices under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961. The recruitment drive covers 7,150 apprentice posts across various units and regions in the country.
According to the notification issued by SBI’s Central Recruitment & Promotion Department at the Corporate Centre in Mumbai, the online application process begins on May 19, 2026, and will continue till June 8, 2026. Candidates can apply through the official SBI apprenticeship portal.
The recruitment is being conducted for a one-year apprenticeship training programme. SBI said the examination schedule for the recruitment process will be announced separately at a later stage.
The notification added that the recruitment process is being managed by the Central Recruitment & Promotion Department at SBI’s Corporate Centre in Mumbai. Applicants have been advised to follow all instructions issued on the official recruitment portal while submitting online applications.

The prescribed age limit for applicants is 20 to 28 years as on April 30, 2026. SBI stated that age relaxation for reserved category candidates will be provided in accordance with government rules.
The bank has advised candidates to carefully verify their eligibility criteria before completing the online application process.
Candidates will be required to qualify at each stage of the recruitment process as per SBI guidelines.
The application fee has been fixed at Rs. 300 for candidates belonging to General, OBC and EWS categories. Candidates from SC, ST and PWD categories are exempted from payment of the application fee. SBI said fees can be paid only through online mode.

Graduate degree mandatory for applicants
