An official from the Indian High Commission in Chattogram, Bangladesh, was discovered deceased within the mission's premises. The individual, identified as Narendra, aged 38, served as an assistant protocol officer. According to local police reports, he was originally from Chandigarh. His body was located on Tuesday in the office area on Zakir Hossain Road, situated in the Khulshi district of the port city. Authorities believe he may have succumbed to a cardiac arrest.
Preliminary Findings Indicate Cardiac Arrest
Aminur Rashid, Assistant Commissioner for Public Relations at Chattogram Metropolitan Police, informed local news outlets that the body was found near the bathroom door of a data entry room on the second floor of the old visa center building. "We initially suspect that the official may have passed away while attempting to use the bathroom during the night," he stated. Given that the deceased was a foreign national, police conducted the required procedures before transferring the body to the morgue at Chattogram Medical College Hospital for an autopsy. CMCH Director Brig Gen Mohammad Taslim Uddin confirmed to the media that the individual was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, with no visible injuries or suspicious signs detected during the preliminary examination. Authorities suspect a cardiac arrest as the cause of death, and further investigations are ongoing.
