The long-awaited Strictly Come Dancing reveal is finally here, and I'm underwhelmed. After fronting the glitzy BBC series together for 14 years, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman shocked the nation with their joint departure announcement. While they held on until the series 23 finale, what followed was an onslaught of famous names being thrown into the hat as a national guessing game. From the likes of Alison Hammond, Davina McCall and Rylan Clark.

Just moments ago, Strictly bosses confirmed that Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe will be the three new hosts. As Johannes moves from the dancefloor to the autocue, the South African native is already a huge fan favourite and has a wealth of knowledge about the weekly routines. Emma is well-versed in hosting live shows due to her background on The Voice and Big Brother, and while Josh is best known for his appearances on comedy panel shows, his addition to the line-up seems random.

When Strictly began in 2004, Tess and Bruce Forsyth were at the helm as a duo before Bruce stepped down and was replaced by Claudia 10 years later.

The new shake-up, by having a trio of hosts, could make the show overwhelming when a huge chunk of Strictly is focused on the dancing.

While the previous stars dazzled every week with their looks, they focused on introducing the show, the duos, walking them to the panel for feedback, then to the Clauditorium for the scores and a quick debrief.

Although Josh is familiar with Strictly, having taken part in the 2024 Christmas special, he also described the experience as the "worst day" of his career.

During a Hits Radio interview, Josh told presenter and It Takes Two host, Fleur East: "I have started doing old people's TV shows and attracting older audiences. If I was to sum up the age I have reached.

"I did the Strictly Christmas special two years ago. I had the worst day of my career.

"We all had to get up and do a group dance. All the big celebs were there: me, Nitro from Gladiators. All the biggies. We all started dancing, and I realised I was the worst dancer. This wasn't meant to happen."

Although the trio will be a strange adjustment, let's hope his Strictly hosting skills will be better than his dancing.
