A heartwarming social media post about an interaction between a woman and a Rapido bike-taxi driver has gone viral online, with many users praising the small act of kindness shown during the ongoing heatwave.

The post described how the passenger offered the driver a cold soft drink after their ride as temperatures continued to soar. The gesture reportedly left the driver emotional and sparked widespread discussion online about the difficult conditions faced by gig workers.

"Rapido wale bhaiya and I were having a little chat on the way and he mentioned how unbearably hot it's been lately. When I got off, I told him to take care of himself, offered him the soft drink I had with me, and asked him to stay hydrated," the user wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

According to the passenger, the driver became emotional after receiving the drink and expressed how rare such gestures are for workers like him.

"He got a little emotional and said, “humare baare mein toh kaun hi sochta hai” (no one really thinks about us). I often think about how the smallest gestures of kindness go such a long way," the passenger wrote.

"It just made me realise that the world would be such a better place if we were a little kinder to people more often," the post further said.

As the post gained traction online, several social media users appreciated the passenger’s gesture while also highlighting the struggles faced by delivery executives and cab drivers who continue working outdoors in extreme temperatures.

"Humanity isn't dead," one user commented.

Another user shared a similar experience, writing, "I always order 7 diet Cokes and give one chilled can back to the delivery executive."

A third user added, "Being kind to other people has become an underrated trait these days. You did well."

The viral post has resonated with many online users, with several calling it a reminder that even small acts of empathy can leave a lasting impact.
