Lucknow, Amrit Thoughts: Yogi government is now taking big steps towards linking cow conservation with scientific agriculture, organic farming and rural economy rather than limiting it to only religious and social viewpoint. The government is preparing a new agricultural revolution in the state through protected cow-based micro-entrepreneurship model, in which the advanced technology of IIT Kanpur will play an important role.
The state’s cow shelters will now be developed not just as animal protection centers but as a new force for organic agriculture and rural development. Modern technology for preparing high-quality organic fertilizers based on cow dung and cow urine has been developed at IIT Kanpur, which will help in making farming more natural, sustainable and environment friendly.
IIT Kanpur developed advanced technology
Akshay Srivastava, a PhD scholar in the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, IIT Kanpur, has developed this technology. This research is being led by Amitabh Bandyopadhyay. Through technology, high quality organic fertilizer will be prepared scientifically from cow dung and cow urine. According to experts, this will reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers, reduce the cost of farming and also promote environmental protection.
New strength to villages through micro-entrepreneurship model
Yogi government is preparing to link this technology with micro-entrepreneurship model. Under this, rural youth, women and farmers will be linked to small scale fertilizer units. This will create new opportunities for employment and self-employment in villages. The government plans to ensure that organic products prepared in cow sheds reach the farmers directly and a strong economic cycle of production, sale and income is created at the village level itself. This is expected to give new impetus to the rural economy.
New economic model will be linked to cowsheds
The state’s cow sheds will be developed as a new model of organic farming, natural farming and rural development. The government believes that if this model is successful on a large scale, Uttar Pradesh can become the biggest center of cow-based scientific farming and organic fertilizer technology in the country. Shyam Bihari Gupta said that the Yogi government is developing such a model by linking cow conservation with scientific agriculture and employment, which can become an example for the entire country in future.
