Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard has delivered a heartfelt message to fans after their narrow victory over Burnley, which left the Gunners just one step away from clinching the Premier League crown. The north London giants are now a single game away from ending a 22-year wait for the top-flight title, while also preparing for a massive Champions League final.

Gunners inch closer to the title

Mikel Arteta’s men took a significant stride towards Premier League glory with a gritty 1-0 win against relegated Burnley at the Emirates Stadium. Kai Havertz broke the deadlock in the 37th minute, nodding in from a Bukayo Saka corner after Leandro Trossard had earlier hit the crossbar. The vital result pushed Arsenal five points clear at the top, putting added pressure on second-placed Manchester City ahead of their midweek clash with Bournemouth.

Odegaard’s inspiring commitment

During a post-match lap of appreciation at the Emirates, marking their final home fixture of the season, Odegaard spoke passionately about his pride and ambitions for the weeks ahead. Looking forward to both domestic and European challenges, he declared: “I am really proud. It has been an amazing season so far. We have one big one left and then the Champions League final and we want to take the trophies home. I can promise you all that we will give everything we have and keep going until the very end, and with your support we are going to be ready.”

Arteta hails team’s transformation

The win symbolises the culmination of Arsenal’s remarkable progress under Arteta, who has turned the Emirates Stadium into a defensive stronghold, registering 32 clean sheets in all competitions this season.

Reflecting on the club’s journey and acknowledging the fans for their unwavering support, Arteta said: “It is an absolute joy to witness the transformation and contribution each of you have had to turn this place into the most beautiful venue to enjoy and play our football games.”

He added: “This is the soul of this football club. Make sure that every time you step into this stadium, you carry the responsibility to maintain these standards because it makes such a difference to us and to the players.”

Double within reach

Arsenal will officially secure the Premier League title if Manchester City fail to collect all three points against Bournemouth, but they can still guarantee the trophy by winning their final match. Arteta’s side will travel to Selhurst Park on Sunday to face Crystal Palace, knowing a victory will seal the championship. Beyond domestic glory, the Gunners are eyeing a historic double, with a much-anticipated Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain set to take place in Budapest on May 30.
