LPG Cylinder Scam: A surprising case has come to light from Lisadi Gate area of Meerut, which has raised serious questions regarding illegal LPG cylinder sale. A street vendor named Faheem, resident of Jogiwali Gali, Tarapuri, has alleged that he was cheated by a person selling gas cylinders in the black market.
The matter came into limelight when a video went viral on social media, in which water was seen coming out of the newly purchased cylinder instead of gas. However, independent official confirmation of the claims made in the video is yet to emerge.
Water comes out instead of gas in LPG cylinder
According to Faheem, due to running out of gas in the house, he had to buy the cylinder in a hurry. He claimed that the children at home were hungry and gas was not immediately available, so he bought a 14 kg LPG cylinder for around Rs 2500 from a person selling the cylinder on a bicycle.
This price is said to be much higher than the normal rate. After reaching home, when he connected the cylinder to the stove, there was no gas. After trying several times, he became suspicious and during investigation he claimed that water started coming out from the cylinder.
Buying gas cylinder from black market is risky
After the video surfaced, people’s reactions are also coming rapidly on social media. Many users have called it a serious matter and demanded investigation, while some people called it risky to buy goods from the black market without verification.
This incident is also being seen as a warning to the people that essential items like gas cylinders should be purchased only through authorized agencies or through official channels. If the claims are found to be true, it could raise big questions on consumer safety and the issue of illegal sales.
