Will Drishyam 3 break L2: Empuraan record?

Currently, the record for the highest opening in Malayalam cinema is held by L2: Empuraan, which also featured Mohanlal in the lead role. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film reportedly collected around Rs 68-70 crore gross worldwide on its opening day.

Now, fans are eagerly waiting to see whether “Drishyam 3” can surpass that record.

The runtime of “Drishyam 3” is reportedly 159.05 minutes, making it 2 hours, 39 minutes and 5 seconds long. The first film in the franchise had a runtime of 164 minutes, while the second part lasted 153 minutes.

The Central Board of Film Certification has granted the film a ‘U/A 16+’ certificate.

“Drishyam 3” is scheduled for a grand worldwide release on May 21, 2026. Though originally made in Malayalam, the film will also release simultaneously in dubbed versions in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu.
