Not Bumrah or Rabada: This Bowler Has Troubled Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Most in IPL 2026

Indian teenage phenomenon Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has ripped apart some of the best bowlers in the world this Indian Premier League 2026 with his phenomenal batting displays. Almost every premier bowler from Jasprit Bumrah to Kagiso Rabada and Josh Hazlewood have struggled to bowl at the 15-year-old batter.

Several of them were hit for a six on the first ball, whilst others survived but ended up conceding later in the over. Sooryavanshi's fearless batting is what has been the talk of the town and it is what has arguably been the biggest story of Indian Premier League 2026.

The opener for Rajasthan Royals has been scoring at a tremendous strike rate and leads the Orange Cap charts at the moment.Amidst the destruction, however, there is one bowler who has managed to put the teenager under pressure time and time again, Mohsin Khan of Lucknow Super Giants.

Mohsin Khan Finds a Way to Stop Sooryavanshi

Back in their first match earlier in the season, Mohsin Khan produced an unexpected over. Bowling on a lively Lucknow pitch, the left-arm pace bowler ended up bowling 5 straight dots against the young opener. Repeatedly failing to get any connection against Mohsin, the teenager ultimately lost his patience and swung across the final delivery, ending up being dismissed. Mohsin was the first ever bowler in IPL history to bowl a maiden to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

The trend repeated in the reverse fixture at Jaipur as even though Sooryavanshi tore into other bowlers during his knock of over a 100, he found it very difficult against Mohsin who eventually ended up dismissing him when the RR opener was close to another ton.

Numbers Reveal Mohsin's Superiority

Sooryavanshi maintained a strike rate north of 200 against most of the bowlers over the course of this season, yet against Mohsin numbers tell a much different story.

In 2 matches he has only scored 2 runs of 12 balls against the left-arm seamer while getting out twice.

Mohsin's angle of attack, added bounce and difficult lengths, have definitely given the young batsman trouble. Oddly enough, Sooryavanshi also looked a little vulnerable against Rabada, yet another pacer who can really bang the ball in.

The left arm of Mohsin seems to give him an edge though.

Lucknow Super Giants may have struggled over the course of the IPL 2026 season yet they may have uncovered what no other team has managed yet, a working way to contain the scariest young batsman in the tournament.
