In a truck coming from the Netherlands, 28 pallets of Kim’s Skims brand of cocaine were being carried hidden among clothes. The price of these drugs is said to be around 8.4 million dollars (about Rs 70 crore).
40-year-old truck driver Jakub Jan Konkel from Poland has been arrested in this case. Chelmsford Crown Court convicted him after an NCA investigation and sentenced him to 13 years and 6 months of rigorous imprisonment. The court said that the driver was intentionally involved in this smuggling. The drugs were cleverly hidden inside packets of clothes in the truck, but X-rays exposed everything.
