The impact of the nationwide strike organized on Wednesday on the call of All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) was widely seen in Triveniganj block area. Most of the medicine shops in rural areas including the city remained locked throughout the day. Due to the closure of medicine shops, patients and their families had to face a lot of problems. Many people were seen wandering here and there for essential medicines.
Triveniganj Chemist and Druggist Association President Rajnandan Chaudhary and Secretary Sonu Singh said that e-pharmacy and instant medicine delivery apps are operating without clear rules and monitoring, due to which the business of small medical stores is being affected. He said that the chemist organization is in favor of providing quality medicines to the consumers at the right time and at the right price, but fake, intoxicating, duplicate and illegal medicines are being sold indiscriminately through online companies.
He said that such activities can cause serious harm to the society and health system. Therefore, the government should ensure effective control by imposing strict rules on e-pharmacy and online medicine sales.
