New Delhi: Axis My India Chairman Pradeep Gupta has made a big revelation regarding a 9 year old case. He told that in 2017, people of his team had to become victims of the anger of Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal. In a recent interview to PTI, Gupta said that at that time six surveyors of Axis My India were put in jail for 30 days. Later he was let out on bail.
Serious allegations were made against surveyors
Pradeep Gupta told that six of his surveyors were lodged in Dumdum jail. He was accused of asking people who they would vote for. The allegation was also that if anyone took the name of TMC, his vote would be cut off. Gupta termed these allegations as completely false.
Got relief from High Court
The MD of Axis My India said that he had approached the Calcutta High Court for the jailed surveyors. He got relief from there. The court approved his bail and asked the company to continue its work. Gupta said that even today some of his belongings are lying in the jail.
TMC accused of intimidation
Gupta claimed that TMC misused the state machinery at that time. Their surveyors were intimidated and in some cases even arrested. He said that even in the recent elections, six of his people were put in jail. The state government released him only after the court’s rebuke.
Police were alerted
Pradeep Gupta told that this time police stations across West Bengal were alerted. All police stations were instructed to keep an eye on the surveyors of Axis My India.
Said to be an atmosphere of fear in Bengal
Speaking on the elections on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Pradeep Gupta said that TMC’s years of misrule in West Bengal had created an atmosphere of fear. He said that the charismatic personality of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the organizational strength of RSS brought BJP to power.
Denial of polarization of Hindu votes
It is noteworthy that Gupta, the director of Axis My India, rejected the suggestion that the consolidation of Hindu votes had a role in Mamata Banerjee’s defeat of TMC after being in power for 15 years. He said that the reason for the change was misgovernance and BJP’s strategy.
