Bariya. The 38th conference of Bairia Zone Kisan Council of Bihar State Kisan Sabha was held at Comrade Banarasi Shah Nagar RR International School, Laukaria. While inaugurating the conference after first paying homage to the martyrs, Vice President of Bihar State Kisan Sabha Prabhuraj Narayan Rao said that today the farmers are going through a serious crisis. The Modi government of the country wants to eliminate both farmers and farmers. The government is bent upon snatching away the lands of the farmers and handing them over to the corporates. This is the reason why farmers’ land is being snatched away in Gorakhpur Siliguri Six Lane Expressway.

1050 acres of land in Navgachia of Bhagalpur in which lakhs of fruit trees were planted was snatched from the farmers at an annual fee of one rupee and given to Adani. 32 farmers burdened with debt are committing suicide every day. It is a matter of regret that even after making the promise, the Modi government has not yet freed the farmers from debt. He told that India has signed an agreement with America to sell agricultural goods. He is very shameful and anti-farmer. America’s agricultural goods were allowed to be sold in India without any duty. But to sell Indian agricultural goods in America, farmers will have to pay 18% duty. This is an agreement that will break the backs of farmers. Farmers across the country are strongly opposing it. The Government of India has abolished the Sugarcane Control Act 1966 and brought the amended Bill 2026. According to which sugarcane cultivation will be loss making and the country’s big corporate world and mill owners will be benefited.

All India Kisan Sabha and All India Sugarcane Farmers Federation have strongly opposed this bill and asked the Agriculture Minister to withdraw it immediately. The conference was presided over by Haresh Kumar Rao. A brief report of the activities of the last 3 years was presented in the conference by Bairia Zone Secretary Sunil Yadav. On which Ashrafi Patel, Madan Prasad, Ashrafi Patel, Rajroop Yadav, Jhulan Rao, Satyanarayan Sah, Hasnain, Mohan Rao, Azad Mian etc. gave their important suggestions. The conference was addressed by Bihar Provincial Agricultural Laborers Union District President Prakash Kumar Verma, Bharat Ki Janwadi Naujawan Sabha State Vice President Mohammad Hanif and District Minister Sanjeev Kumar Rao, CITU District Secretary Shankar Kumar Rao, Nautan Anchal Kisan Council President Lalbabu Yadav, Secretary Prem Prasad etc. The conference unanimously elected representatives for the 13-member zonal council and 21-member district council, whose president Sanjay Rao and secretary Kashi Sah were elected.
