Twisha Sharma Death Case: The case of death under suspicious circumstances of Twisha Sharma, daughter-in-law of retired District and Sessions Judge Giribala Singh, living in Katara Hills police station area of the capital Bhopal, is continuously gaining momentum. Now Katara Hills police station has sent a letter to Twisha Sharma’s father Navnidhi Sharma. This letter was given just before the commencement of the hearing in the district court.
The letter states that Twisha’s body has been kept at a temperature of minus 6 degrees Celsius in AIIMS Bhopal. Minus 80 degree Celsius temperature is required to preserve the dead body for a long time, but this facility is not available in AIIMS Bhopal. The police have also clarified in the letter that they have no objection to the postmortem being conducted again, but to save the body from decomposing, the family should collect the body soon.

Senior Supreme Court advocate and Congress Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav demanding a CBI investigation into the matter. Vivek Tankha said that the family members have been worried for justice for the last eight days. In view of the allegations made by the family members and the doubts raised, a CBI investigation is necessary for a fair investigation.
Today, the family members of deceased Twisha Sharma met Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at Mantralaya. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav assured him that the state government will provide full assistance to the family in this matter. A letter will also be written to CBI for investigation in this matter. The court will take a decision regarding re-postmortem of the deceased, but if the family wishes, then transport facility will be provided to take the body to Delhi AIIMS. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that if the family members wish, the state government will write a letter to hand over the investigation of Twisha case to CBI. He said that the court will take the final decision regarding conducting post-mortem in Delhi AIIMS. After getting the permission of the court, the state government will make arrangements to safely transport the body to Delhi AIIMS.
The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognizance of the case to the suspicious death of Twisha Sharma. Citing media reports, the Commission said that Twisha Sharma died under suspicious circumstances just five months after her marriage. The victim’s family members have made serious allegations of dowry harassment, mental and physical torture against her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh. At the same time, a large number of former army officers and ex-servicemen came out on the streets demanding justice and fair investigation.
