Major crisis of extreme heat in UP! CM Yogi gives very strict orders to officials amid 48 degree temperature

The scourge of scorching heat and deadly heat waves continues in Uttar Pradesh. The mercury is breaking records in most parts of the state and on Wednesday the temperature was recorded well above 40 degrees Celsius in most cities. The most shocking and scary thing was that the highest temperature in the whole of India was recorded in Banda district of UP, where the mercury reached 48 degrees Celsius.

This temperature of Banda is about 4.5 degrees more than normal. In view of this increasingly serious situation and the scorching heat in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has immediately come into action and has issued very strict instructions to the administrative officials regarding relief work.

CM Yogi’s big order regarding electricity, water and hospitals

CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed top officials to remain fully alert round the clock for relief and rescue operations from the heat. The Chief Minister has clearly said that DM, Health Department, Electricity Department and relief agencies of all the districts should come on alert mode with immediate effect. Senior officers themselves should come down to the ground and keep a special eye on hospitals, drinking water arrangements and electricity supply. Along with this, the Chief Minister has given instructions to ensure adequate arrangements of adequate beds, essential medicines and doctors for prompt treatment of patients affected by heat stroke in all government hospitals.

‘Don’t do anything careless that could cause a fire’

Amidst the scorching heat, CM Yogi has made an emotional appeal to the general public to take all possible precautions and vigilance to protect themselves from heat wave. The Chief Minister has said that in this deadly season, special care should be taken of the health of children and the elderly. While going out in the sun, wear only loose clothes made of cotton or khadi.

Emphasizing the most important thing, the CM said that the weather is extremely dry, hence do not do any carelessness which may create possibility or danger of fire anywhere. Apart from this, he gave strict instructions to the officials to make strict arrangements to protect the workers engaged in fields and construction work from exhaustion, dehydration and heat wave.

No relief at all for next one week, big warning from weather department

On Wednesday, the heat scorched people badly in different cities of Uttar Pradesh. Talking about the data, the temperature was recorded at 46.4 degrees Celsius in Prayagraj, 46.2 degrees Celsius in Hamirpur, 45.9 degrees Celsius in Jhansi, 45.3 degrees Celsius in Agra, 45.2 degrees Celsius in Orai, 44 degrees Celsius in Meerut and 44.6 degrees Celsius in Kanpur. Apart from this, the mercury remained above 43 degrees Celsius in districts like Varanasi, Aligarh, Sultanpur and Hardoi.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning saying that such severe heat wave will continue in many places of the state for the next one week. According to meteorologists, there is every possibility of extremely dangerous heat wave in Western UP (Western Uttar Pradesh) during 20 to 26 May and in Eastern UP (Eastern Uttar Pradesh) during 20 to 23 May, hence people should be very careful while coming out of their homes in the afternoon.
