The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a major update for lakhs of NEET UG 2026 candidates. The dedicated refund portal for the cancelled NEET UG 2026 examination is set to be activated on May 21, 2026, allowing students to submit their bank account details for fee refunds.
The move comes after the cancellation of the May 3 NEET UG 2026 examination following the paper leak controversy. The re-examination is now officially scheduled for June 21, 2026.
Students who had paid the original registration fee for the cancelled exam are now eligible for a refund process through the upcoming portal.
NTA Confirms Refund Portal Activation
The NTA had earlier stated that candidates appearing for the re-examination would not be required to pay any additional examination fee.
Now, the agency has confirmed that:
- A dedicated refund module will be made available from May 21
- Students will need to submit their bank details through the portal
- Refunds will be processed against the original registration payment

- Used a parent’s or friend’s account during registration

- If bank details are not updated properly
- Refund may be credited back to the original account used during payment
Students are therefore being urged to verify all account details carefully before submission.
