Football fans heading to the World Cup could face some of the steepest match-day expenses at Levi’s Stadium, MetLife Stadium, and SoFi Stadium, adding to already high ticket prices. According to a new analysis by SeatPick, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, has emerged as the most expensive among the 16 host venues, with supporters expected to pay $34.24 (approximately ₹2,860) for one beer and one basic meal.

While ticket prices have drawn significant attention, SeatPick’s report did not include the cost of entry. Instead, it examined how much spectators might spend inside the venues, combining the price of one beer and a simple meal.

The top three costliest stadiums are all located in major U.S. cities: Levi’s Stadium at $34.24, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, at $33.22, and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, at $32.24.

For fans attending high-demand fixtures, the overall expense could climb even higher. For example, the lowest-priced ticket available for the U.S. Men’s National Team’s group-stage clash with Paraguay at SoFi Stadium currently costs $955.

“U.S. venues dominate the top end of the ranking, highlighting the premium cost of attending major events in markets like the San Francisco Bay Area, New York/New Jersey, and Los Angeles,” said Gilad Zilberman, CEO of SeatPick. “These are world-class host cities with state-of-the-art stadiums, but fans should be aware of how expensive a full day at the match can be once they step inside.”

The contrast between the most and least expensive venues is striking. Zilberman noted, “The gap between the most and least expensive venues is hard to ignore. Fans at Levi’s Stadium will spend $34.24 for a beer and a basic meal, while at Estadio Akron in Guadalajara, the same purchase costs just $9.77. That’s a huge difference, particularly for families or travelling supporters planning to attend several games.”

Estadio Akron in Guadalajara ranks as the most affordable World Cup stadium overall, with a combined beer-and-meal price of $9.77 — a difference of $24.47 compared to Levi’s Stadium. This highlights the drastic variation in match-day expenses depending on the host location.

Mexico’s three World Cup venues occupy the lower end of SeatPick’s cost list. Estadio Azteca in Mexico City follows Akron at $10.77, while Estadio BBVA in Monterrey takes third place among the cheapest venues at $13.90. In comparison, the least expensive U.S. stadium is GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, where the same combo costs $22.37.

These differences could significantly influence how fans plan their tournament budgets. “While these costs might not deter supporters from attending, they will definitely affect how people plan their spending,” Zilberman added. “Someone attending a single match may absorb the price, but for a family of four or fans following their team across multiple cities, the financial impact will be much more noticeable.”
