Suriya starrer “Karuppu,” directed by RJ Balaji, is continuing its sensational run at the Tamil Nadu box office. The action drama has been posting outstanding numbers since release and is now racing towards the prestigious ₹100 crore milestone in the state.
Released on May 15, the film opened to strong word of mouth and has maintained excellent momentum through the weekdays without witnessing major drops in collections.
“Karuppu” collected around ₹11.25 crore gross on its opening day in Tamil Nadu. The film then registered massive growth over the weekend, ending its first three days with approximately ₹48.50 crore gross.
What surprised the trade even more was the film’s Monday performance. Instead of slowing down, “Karuppu” reportedly earned around ₹11.30 crore gross on Day 4, surpassing its opening day numbers. The strong trend continued on Tuesday as well, with the film collecting nearly ₹10 crore gross.
With this impressive hold, the total Tamil Nadu gross has now reached close to ₹70 crore within just five days.
