According to reports emerging from Brazil, Casemiro is unlikely to take part in Manchester United’s final Premier League encounter of the season this Sunday.

The upcoming away fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion would have marked the Brazilian midfielder’s last appearance in a United shirt.

With the Red Devils having already secured third place in the league and confirmed their qualification for next season’s Champions League, it now appears that Casemiro is being encouraged to skip the weekend match.

The 34-year-old had already shared an emotional farewell with Manchester United fans at Old Trafford following last week’s victory over Nottingham Forest, though he was initially expected to start in the trip to the Amex Stadium.

Reports suggest that Casemiro is closing in on a transfer to Inter Miami ahead of the World Cup next month. The move would see him reunite with several former La Liga stars, including Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, and Luis Suarez.

In addition to his impending club switch, Casemiro is also preparing for a major international tournament with Brazil — their first under the management of his former Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti.

By concluding his Manchester United duties early — despite his contract running until the end of June — Casemiro will have time to travel to Miami to complete his transfer and then focus fully on Brazil’s World Cup campaign. The Selecao are once again considered among the leading contenders to extend their record of five world titles.
