Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Before the last league match of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), a big and good news has come for the team. Captain Rajat Patidar is fully fit and available for selection. He could not play the last match due to concussion (head injury) protocol, but now the team’s cricket director Mo Bobat has confirmed his return.

RCB, which has already secured a place in the playoffs, will now aim to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad and end the league stage by topping the points table. Let us tell you that during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Patidar could not take the field against Punjab Kings due to the ball hitting his helmet. In his absence, wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma took command of the team.

‘Rajat is completely fine now’

While talking before the match, Cricket Director Mo Bobat said, ‘Rajat is completely fine now. We did not show any haste regarding them and took precautions and did not take any risk. We believed that he should be given some more time to recover and rest. Now he has returned to the field, is sweating at the net and is completely ready to play.

Bobat further clarified that the team’s entire focus is currently on the next match and they are not thinking too far ahead. He said, ‘This may sound like a bit of an old cliché, but we really focus on one match at a time. It doesn’t matter to us whether the match is being held on our home ground or away from us. We just understand the conditions there, respect the team in front and make a strategy against them, and then try to give our best on the field according to our strengths.

He further said, ‘We have been repeating this same formula in every group match, so I don’t think there is any secret code to our success. We are happy that our team’s performance has been consistent. We have won many matches, and even in the matches where we lost, we fought till the end. The team is in very good form and confidence at the moment, and the reason for this is that we are only concentrating on the next match.

Hyderabad’s challenge and praise of Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Regarding this match against Hyderabad, Bobat said, ‘All the teams in this tournament are strong and every team has such match-winning players who can single-handedly turn the tables. Therefore, you have to give full respect to the opposing team and also be clear about your strengths. We do not come under the pressure of old records or history, our entire focus is only on tomorrow night’s match.

During this, Bobat praised experienced fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is leading the race for Purple Cap with 24 wickets in 13 innings this season. He said, ‘Bhuvi has bowled amazingly this season. Not only are his statistics excellent, he also looks to be in great form. He has taken wickets in the beginning of the innings and has been equally effective in the death overs also. The management is very happy with his performance.

Regarding Bhuvneshwar’s role in the team, he further said, ‘He gives his inputs during meetings and has great ideas in situations of pressure on the field. He is an important part of the team’s strategic group, who acts as a big support system for Rajat and Jitesh on the field. Bhuvi’s experience is very valuable for us and the team gets to learn a lot from him.
