Manchester United vs Brighton: Confirmed squad updates, predicted lineup and latest injury news for Premier League finale

Striker remains uncertain for the final league game as Bruno Fernandes eyes assist record.

Benjamin Sesko’s participation is in doubt as Manchester United prepare to face Brighton in their last Premier League fixture of the season.

The Slovenian forward has been sidelined since being substituted at half-time during this month’s victory over Liverpool, after an awkward collision with the advertising boards aggravated an existing shin issue.

He has missed the last two matches, and manager Michael Carrick has confirmed that his availability remains uncertain ahead of the trip to the AmEx Stadium for the season finale.

With little at stake for United in this fixture, Carrick is expected to rotate his squad, meaning Sesko’s potential absence is not a major concern.

If Sesko is unable to make the journey, Bryan Mbeumo is the likely choice to start as the central striker, which would open up a spot on the wing for Patrick Dorgu, who could make his first start since recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in January.

Benjamin Sesko continues to be a doubt due to a shin injury.

Bruno Fernandes will retain his place in the No.10 role as he aims to claim a record 21st assist in a single Premier League season.

Casemiro will not feature in this match, having already departed the club. Manuel Ugarte is expected to fill his position in defensive midfield, partnering with Kobbie Mainoo.

At the back, Carrick has options to make changes. Senne Lammens has been his regular goalkeeper, but Altay Bayindir might be handed the opportunity to start between the posts, giving him a farewell appearance before a likely summer move.

In defence, this game could provide Ayden Heaven with valuable Premier League minutes, potentially replacing Harry Maguire in central defence. Noussair Mazraoui may also be included at full-back.

Matthijs de Ligt remains sidelined following surgery on a back problem.

Carrick, who recently watched Manchester United’s Under-18s lift the FA Youth Cup, may consider giving some academy prospects their first-team debuts against Brighton, although they are more likely to appear as substitutes.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Bayindir; Shaw, Heaven, Martinez, Mazraoui; Mainoo, Ugarte; Dorgu, Fernandes, Cunha; Mbeumo

Doubts: Sesko (shin)

Injured: De Ligt (back)

Unavailable: Casemiro
