Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi will miss the rest of the 2026 Indian Premier League. The 21-year-old broke a finger on his left hand during KKR's most recent game on Wednesday against the Mumbai Indians, according to the team.
While trying to take a catch on Varun Chakaravarthy's bowling, Raghuvanshi, who was keeping wickets, collided with Varun. Chakaravarthy got both hands to the catch, but Angkrish's late barge caused the ball to fly out since the two appeared to have misunderstood whose catch it was. After the game, Angkrish was spotted walking off the field holding a brace. Tejasvi Dahiya made his wicketkeeping and batting debut for the squad after KKR claimed he was concussed and applied the concussion substitute rule. "Ankrish, unfortunately, ran a long way to be able to try and get that catch. And unfortunately, the collision that he had with Varun Chakravarthy meant that he ended up having some neck pain, a bit of dizziness and a bit of a headache within a couple of overs of that as well," KKR assistant coach Shane Watson said after the match. "So, unfortunately, he wasn't able to finish off the game. And I know how desperate he was as well. He's someone who is as tough a competitor as I've ever met. So we certainly missed him from a batting perspective," he added. The final match between KKR and the Delhi Capitals on Sunday is their only remaining . Since they need the Rajasthan Royals to lose to the Mumbai Indians that afternoon in order to qualify, their fate may be determined before then. If KKR were to advance to the next round, Angkrish would be a huge loss. The right-hander has been quite reliable for the squad, scoring 422 runs in 12 innings at an average of 42.20 and a strike rate of 146.52, even if he has not dominated games.
