While hearing the case of Lalita murder case that took place about two years ago on Friday, the court of Sessions Judge Ram Sulin Singh found the convicted husband Rampyare guilty and sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment. A fine of Rs 11 thousand has also been imposed on them. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of three months. The period spent in jail will be included in the sentence.
According to the prosecution, Shivkumar, son of late Ram Sahay, resident of Korchi Tola Biadamar, police station Duddhi, district Sonbhadra, had informed in the complaint given in Duddhi police station that on April 1, 2023 at 7 pm, his elder brother Rampyare beat his wife Lalita (45) by abusing her at home and badly injured her. He has suffered serious head injuries. When preparations were being made to take her to the hospital, Lalita died. Take necessary action. On this complaint, the police registered an FIR and started investigating the case. After finding sufficient evidence, the investigator filed a charge sheet against Rampyare in the court.
During the hearing of the case, while the accused’s lawyer pleaded for minimum punishment considering it to be a first crime, the District Government Advocate Criminal Gyanendra Sharan Roy pleaded for maximum punishment considering it a serious crime. After hearing the arguments of the lawyers of both the parties, examining the statements of the witnesses and the documents, the court found the accused husband Rampyare guilty and sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment. A fine of Rs 11 thousand has also been imposed on him. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of three months. The period spent in jail will be included in the sentence.
