MPPSC Prelims Result 2026: The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has released the results for the State Service Prelims Examination 2026. Thousands of candidates who successfully cleared the examination have now begun preparing for the Mains examination. This time, the Commission has shortlisted a total of 3,786 candidates for the Mains examination. Candidates can check their results by visiting the official MPPSC website.
**Results Released in Two Separate Lists**
The Commission has released the results in two parts this time. The first—the Regular Merit List—includes 3,055 candidates. Meanwhile, 731 candidates have been placed in the Provisional List. The MPPSC has clarified that both lists will remain distinct, and no alterations or interchanging of candidates will take place between them. According to the Commission, this decision was taken in light of pending court cases and the ongoing dispute regarding OBC reservation.
**Recruitment to be Conducted for Only 156 Posts**
The Commission has stated that the recruitment process will be conducted solely for the 156 posts announced previously. There will be no further increase in the number of posts. The Prelims examination was held on April 26 across 54 district headquarters in the state, conducted in two shifts.
**Separate Rules Formulated Due to OBC Reservation Dispute**
According to the MPPSC, certain cases related to the State Service Examination 2019 are currently pending in court. Consequently, 87 percent of the posts have been allocated to the regular recruitment process, while the remaining 13 percent have been placed in a provisional category pending the court's final verdict. A total of 42 posts are reserved for the OBC category; of these, 26 posts have been placed in the Regular List, and 16 posts in the Provisional List.
**Post Allocation by Category**
Out of the total 156 posts, 41 have been allocated to the General Category. Additionally, 20 posts are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), 33 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 42 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 20 for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). Provisions for reservation have also been made for candidates with disabilities and ex-servicemen.
