Friends, assembly elections are going to be held in Uttar Pradesh very soon, for which the atmosphere has started heating up and political parties have started their preparations and strategies. Amidst this changing political scenario, the Congress Party is reportedly working on a detailed “masterplan”, which aims to strengthen its position in the state. According to reports, the party is preparing itself long before any possible seat-sharing talks with Samajwadi Party (SP), let us know its complete details.

Congress has conducted a comprehensive political survey across Uttar Pradesh to assess the ground reality, caste equation and electoral prospects in different constituencies. Based on these results, the party has identified around 160 assembly seats and divided them into three categories.

Congress’s three-tier seat strategy

• Category A:

These are the constituencies where Congress believes it has a strong chance of victory based on local support, organizational presence and favorable political conditions.

• Category B:

This category includes those seats where the Congress feels that an alliance with the Samajwadi Party, as well as favorable social and caste equations, can substantially improve its chances of success.

• Category C:

These are constituencies where both the Congress and SP have historically been weak and have failed to perform effectively in previous elections.

focus on each district

The Congress is reportedly aiming to establish a visible political presence across Uttar Pradesh. The party’s strategy includes contesting at least two seats in each major district and one seat in smaller districts.

The move also reflects lessons learned from the last Lok Sabha elections, where despite initially demanding 37 seats from the SP alliance, the Congress was ultimately allotted only 17 seats, of which it won six.

Akhilesh Yadav’s parallel strategy

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is also actively working to strengthen the party organization and energize its workers across the state. Through his recent statements, Akhilesh is emphasizing that SP is the only party capable of posing a serious challenge to the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.
